T Venkatesan

T. Venkatesan, President, Founder & Board Member, is a world-renowned entrepreneur/scientist who invented the PLD process at Bell Labs/Bellcore, founded Neocera Magma in 1989 to commercialize PLD and founded the Surface Modification Center at Rutgers University. He negotiated the license agreement for the magnetic imaging system from the University of Maryland and has included this in Neocera’s product portfolio. He was a scientist/manager at Bell Labs/ Bellcore for 17 years followed by another 17 years as a Professor of ECE and Physics at the University of Maryland Center for Superconductivity research. Since 2008, he is the Director of the Nano Institute at the National University of Singapore. He has over 800 publications and 34 patents in the area of oxides and interfaces and has over 54,300 citations and a Hirsch index of 118. In 2016 he was elected a Fellow in the following: Singapore National Academy of Sciences, Asia Pacific Artificial Intelligence, Royal Society, Materials Research Society, and an Academy Elected Fellow of the National Academy of Inventors. Also, he is currently an Affiliate Scientist at NIST.

Jerry Weinberg

Jerry Weinberg

Jerry Weinberg is the CFO/Treasurer at Neocera. He is in charge of the full cycle of accounting including day-to-day accounting operations; monthly, quarterly, and annually closing; financial reporting; financial investor information; cash flow budget; forecast/budget; auditing/tax; and FP&A. He is also responsible for company benefit administration including payroll and 401K management. Jerry brings more than 25 years of experience at companies across a diverse range of industries. Mr. Weinberg previously served as CFO with Communications Engineering, Inc., a broadcast and multi-media company. In this capacity, he was instrumental in expanding and diversifying CEI’s revenue stream, resulting in an increase of gross revenues from $25 million to $40 million. Prior to joining CEI, Jerry worked as CFO for Professional Products, Inc., a systems integration company where he played an integral role in computerizing the corporation’s operations and developing a sales incentive plan which helped increase the company’s annual sales from $30 million to $50 million. Jerry earned his BSBA degree at American University in Washington, D.C., and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Fred Cawthorne

Vice President Of Research and Engineering

 

Fred Cawthorne is a Vice President Of Research and Engineering at Neocera Magma. He’s been working for Neocera for 24 years, and he is in charge of designing digital, analog electronics, and writing software for a wide range of applications. Also, he is a co-inventor on multiple patents, and he has published over 20 peer-reviewed articles. He is a physics professor at Trevecca Nazarene University and has been a professor where he has served for 17 years. Dr. Fred has a Ph.D. from University Of Maryland and earned his BS in Physics from Eastern Nazarene College.

Fred Wellstood

Fred Wellstood is a Neocera Magma Fellow and is a pioneer in SQUID technology (Superconducting Quantum Interference Device). He is a physics professor at the University of Maryland, has served for over 30 years, and is a UMD Co-Director of JQI. Dr. Fred Wellstood earned his BS in Physics and Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley. He has a Hirsch index of 42, has co-authored 192 publications receiving 6261 citations, and has over 12 patents.

 

Steve Garrahan

Steve Garrahan is the Vice President Of Software Engineering at Neocera Magma. He worked for Neocera for about 25 years, and has been working with Neocera Magma since it’s founding in 2020. Steve has a BS in Electrical Engineering and a BS in Physics from Binghamton University. As well as a Masters in Astronautical Engineering from The George Washington University. He also has a Project management License from Project management Institute, and a certification in Lean Six Sigma Green Belt from Binghamton University.

Solomon Saul

Chief Sales Officer

 

Solomon Saul serves as the Chief Sales Officer at Neocera Magma.

After completing five years of service with the Israel Defense Forces, Solomon received an honorable discharge. In 1980, he became part of an innovative team that developed the first Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). With over twenty-five years in the semiconductor industry, Solomon has specialized in Failure Analysis (FA) equipment.
